EPIC Private Equity LLP ("EPE") is a niche private equity investor in UK-based small and medium sized companies. EPE has been involved in private equity investing since 2001 and has raised a total of £150m of capital for investment. It raised a £70m growth and buyout fund (EPIC plc) in 2001, a £50 million fund targeting home and personal care branded goods businesses (EBI plc) in 2002 and was an early mover into distressed investing with its £30m fund (ESO plc) in 2003. In total, the EPE team have completed 42 investments and have developed a mature and successful investment approach.
EPE has significant experience in SME and distressed company investing, having invested approximately £91 million into £270 million of enterprise value across 42 transactions over the last eight years (17 of which were distressed private equity transactions via ESO plc). The current combined portfolio constitutes a portfolio of 13 companies and approximately £41 million of invested capital into businesses with an aggregate annual turnover of more than £260 million.
